American potter Richard Milgrim has apprenticed with Master Potters Tahara
Tobei (Hagi ceramics), Fujiwara Yu (Bizen Ceramics) and Kato Koemon (Mino

1984, he established his own independent kiln, named "RICHARDO-GAMA"
by Dr. Sen, located in Northern Kyoto Prefecture. He also has a kiln in

which led to his apprenticeship with Iwabuchi Shigeya, Master Potter in
Kyoto, Japan. He also studied Chanoyu in the Urasenke Midori-kai program
